Obtaining a ppd file for a CLC3200

Postby bigal » Mon Sep 06, 2010 12:05 pm

Hi.

I have downloaded and installed the rpm file CQue 1.0.11 ( g1072enx.rpm) from the Canon-Europe website and installed it. However there does not seem to be a ppd file for the CLC3200 printer. Only one for the iR CLC3200 which I believe is an Image Runner machine. I read that I can add a printer model to CQue but I am unable to locate the correct ppd file. Can anyone advise where to obtain this please.

If it is of any help the printer is equipped with the Cassette Feeding unit X-1 and Saddle finisher N2

If it was the incorrect rpm file cane you point me in the correct direction. I am maintaining a small peer to peer network and am not fully conversant with Canon (or printer) terminology so any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

Dear Alan,

What is the EFI controler your CLC3200 is running with?
There will probably be a PPD for that controler.
If the controler is a C2, then you might try the CLC 3220 PPD (either PS or PCL).
If it is a C1, then I am afraid we have a problem: for the time being there is no PPD for the CLC3200-C1.

Cheers,

Its a C2 and all sorted now Mintze. I have set up two queues using the printer CLC-ir C3220-C2 PS Ver 1.0 which seems to do the trick although locally I still have a networking issue. That, though, is nothing to do with CQue though I presume.

Cheers
