SQue 9.2 Text Mode for Canon
SQue 9.2 Text
Mode for Canon is a powerful tool to create and manage
printer queues for Canon devices on UNIX platforms with passive or
alphanumerical terminals only.
It has been developed in close cooperation with the Cellule Experts of Canon France.
By means of the PPD or
PDD file SQue 9.2 Text Mode for
Canon allows for easy access to all the features of your colour or
black-white printer.
SQue 9.2 Text Mode for Canon supports PostScript as well as PCL printers
and also supports the Canon CPCA
protocol.
SQue 9.2 Text Mode for Canon is the appropriate tool to manage printers

- Creation of specific or dedicated printer queues
giving access to all the features of the Canon device with just some mouse
clicks.
- Use one single printer queue with different
parameters.
- Printing of files - once SQue is configured - without
calling SQue itself. SQue is independent of your main application.

options.

the network.

charge for Linux, for which we recommend the SQue 9.2 X11/Motif version.

A PPD File
(PostScript Printer Description File) is a file normally shipped by the printer
manufacturer. This file contains the instructions necessary to activate all the
features of the printer like paper formats, paper trays, output trays, media
type, duplex printing, color management etc.
A PDD File is
the equivalent of a PPD file (for PostScript) but now for PCL printers. This
file may be supplied either by the printer manufacturer or by SIC.
The Canon
CPCA is a proprietary protocol to manage finishing and device specific
features of Canon devices.
